Before these 3D wooden maps found their way onto walls around the world, they started as a simple idea — to turn places, memories, and journeys into something tangible.

About 18 months ago, I began featuring these maps in my videos. What started as a background detail quickly caught people’s attention, and those moments grew into millions of views across my TikTok and Instagram channels. But the real story isn’t about going viral — it’s about how these maps came to life.

The Design Process

Step 1:

I started my journey in Germany, learning the craft of woodworking from local experts. Through hands-on courses, I gained the skills needed to shape, stain, and finish the maps — laying the foundation for what came next.

Step 2:

With some skills under my belt, I began sketching and refining the design of the world map. It was a step-by-step process until I finally created a design I was excited to bring to life.

Step 3:

I ordered my first laser cutter and started cutting the wood. I experimented with layering and combining different wood colors. Eventually, I created two stunning combinations:

• Midnight Oak – a beautiful blend of browns and beige tones.

• The Obsidian – a darker, striking mix of blacks and deep browns.

Step 4:

Once I was happy with the designs, I shared them on my social media. The overwhelming love and support I received told me I was on to something special.

Step 5:

Fueled by encouragement, I built a small team of two and secured a workshop to begin production. Two months later, we had our first 200 pieces ready to go!

Step 6:

I focused on perfecting the packaging and installation process. I wanted the experience to feel as seamless and enjoyable as possible for anyone who purchased a map.

Step 7:

Launch day arrived! I uploaded the first video showcasing the map. I sold out the entire stock around Christmas.

Seeing how much people loved the maps motivated me to go even bigger. I invested in a larger laser cutter, and now we are selling our second batch.
